Boise homes run the full range — steep foothill rooflines, century-old North End porches with detailed trim, and newer subdivisions off Parkcenter and Harris Ranch. We measure and cut every strand to your exact rooflines so the lines stay straight and the spacing stays even, and we bring our own ladders, lifts and insured crew so nobody in your family is on a roof in December.

Boise is not one kind of house, and that is the whole challenge of hanging Christmas lights here. A 1920s North End bungalow off 13th has deep eaves, decorative brackets and a covered porch that begs for wrapped posts. A home up on Warm Springs Mesa or the Highlands has a steep, tall pitch where a ladder alone is not safe or straight. A newer build in Harris Ranch or Columbia Village has long, clean gutter runs that look spectacular when the bulb spacing is exact — and obviously sloppy when it is not. We quote each of those differently because they are genuinely different jobs.

Our Boise installs start with a walk of the property, usually from the street first. That sounds small, but it decides everything: which rooflines actually read from the road, whether the display needs tree wraps to fill a wide lot, and whether the front-facing peak is worth the extra reach equipment. Homes on the bench and in the foothills often sit above the street, so the roofline carries the whole display. Flatter lots in Southeast Boise and the West Bench usually need columns, shrubs or a wrapped tree to give the front of the house depth.

Every strand is measured and cut to length in our shop before install day, in warm white or multicolor commercial-grade C9s and minis. That is why the lines look tight instead of drooping between clips, and why nothing is doubled back or bunched at the corner of your gutter. Clips are chosen for your gutter or shingle profile — no staples, no nails, nothing driven into the fascia of a home you will still own in twenty years.

Boise weather does the rest of the testing for us. Inversion fog, an ice storm rolling down the Boise River corridor, and the wind that comes off the foothills all put strain on a display between Thanksgiving and New Year. Season-long maintenance is included in every Boise quote: if a section goes dark or a run comes loose, you call and we come back out at no charge. In January we pull everything down, label it and store it, so your garage does not spend the year holding boxes of tangled lights.

We book Boise from late September, and the first two weeks of November are typically gone before Halloween. If you want lights on before the Thanksgiving weekend — which is when most of our Boise customers want them lit — earlier is genuinely better.
