Christmas Light Installation in Depot Bench, Boise
Depot Bench homes are mid-century with generous mature trees, so the trees often deserve as much of the budget as the roofline.

Lighting Depot Bench homes
The Depot Bench, on the streets around the old train depot and off Vista, is largely 1940s through 1960s construction: brick and clapboard single-levels, some with low-slope roofs, on lots with genuinely large trees. Those trees are the neighborhood's signature and they are the reason displays here can look better than the same budget spent in a new subdivision.
A typical Depot Bench install is a clean front roofline, a lit entry, and one or two large trunk wraps. The trees give the display height that the low rooflines cannot, and they photograph beautifully against brick.
Low-slope and flat-ish roof sections need the right clip. We do not staple to fascia or drive anything into the roof surface, and on tar-and-gravel or membrane sections we work from the edge rather than walking the roof.
This is a short route for us, so service calls are usually next-day, and takedown in January includes labeling and storing everything so your basement is not the off-season warehouse.
What we install most in Depot Bench
- Front rooflines on low-slope mid-century homes
- Large trunk wraps on the mature street and yard trees
- Lit wreaths and garland at entries
- Wrapped porch posts and railings
- Walkway and shrub accents
Depot Bench questions
- Can you light a low-slope roof?
- Yes. We work from the roof edge with clips suited to your profile rather than walking a low-slope or membrane section.
- Should I put the budget into the trees?
- On the Depot Bench, often yes. The mature trees give the display the height these single-level rooflines do not have.
- Is anything fastened into my fascia?
- Never. No staples, no nails — clips only, matched to your gutter or shingle edge.
Services we bring to Depot Bench
- Rooflines, peaks & gutter linesRoofline lighting is the backbone of almost every display we install: custom-cut strands clipped along your gutters, eaves and peaks so the lines read straight from the street.
- Trees, shrubs & wrapsWrapped trunks, lit canopies and glowing shrub beds give the front of a house depth that a roofline alone cannot — especially on wide or flat lots.
- Wreaths, garland & columnsWreaths, garland and wrapped columns are the detail work that makes an entry feel finished, and they are what photographs best up close.
- RGBW smart-controlled C9 bulbsOur RGBW smart-controlled C9 bulbs give you app-controlled color and patterns on a seasonal display that still comes down and gets stored in January.
