A lot of the newer subdivisions around Meridian, Eagle, Star and Kuna have holiday decoration language in their covenants. It is rarely restrictive — it is usually about tidiness, timing and not lighting up a neighbor's bedroom window. A professionally installed display clears those bars more easily than a DIY one.

Displays that draw complaints tend to be the ones sprawling across a lawn. Displays that never do are the ones tracing rooflines, columns, railings and trees — the shapes the house already has. It looks more expensive too.
Consistency is the single biggest thing separating a display that looks intentional from one that looks improvised. One bulb style, one color temperature, evenly spaced, straight lines. Warm white is the easiest choice in HOA neighborhoods; a single-color multicolor scheme is fine too as long as it is consistent across the whole house.
No staples, no nails, no visible extension cords running across the drive. Roofline clips ride the gutter or shingle edge and disappear during the day, cords route behind downspouts and along trim, and everything terminates at a single staged outlet.
Most covenants care more about hours than about lights. A timer set to dusk-to-late-evening handles it, keeps a neighbor's window dark overnight, and costs less to run. We set yours as part of the install.
Removal deadlines are the most commonly enforced holiday clause there is. Takedown is included in our price and scheduled in January, so the deadline is our problem rather than something on your list.
